Odds & Ends 9/30-10/13

I’ve been running around quite a bit the last few weeks. My niece started soccer, so every Saturday I get to watch her play (three-year-old soccer teams are pretty entertaining, if not super competitive). I also joined a new writing group at the local library, which has renewed my excitement in my work and is providing me with some fresh additional feedback.

Yesterday my family also had my nephew’s first birthday party! It was such a sweet little party, and once his big sister showed him it was good for eating, he really liked his cake, so I think he had a good time too. It’s so strange, it’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since he was born, but at the same time it feels like he’s been part of our lives for so much longer than that. I love seeing more and more of his personality develop each time we get together.

Little by little, I’ve been getting some new writing in on the second part of my novel project as well. It’s not going as quickly as I might like, but what is coming is pretty solid. I’m hoping I can see it finished by the end of the year, but we’ll see what happens.
