The past couple of weeks haven’t brought as much writing time as I might have liked, but I have made progress on my query letter, which is something I wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to say! I’ve also discovered, through my new writing group, how helpful reading my work aloud is. It definitely helps pinpoint sections (especially dialogue) that might be a little too wordy or have a less than ideal rhythm.

I’ve really enjoyed getting some quality family time in the last few weekends. We had family pictures taken as an early birthday gift for my mom, and I got to have a sleepover with my niece last night, which is always fun. We had a tea party with hot chocolate and got some early Christmas decorating done. Now I just have to make up a little sleep!
