Review: Water Rising

Water Rising is the fourth book in H.A. Pruitt’s Anelthalien series, and continues the adventures of Kindle, Tad, Ella, and Andrew as the journey through Anelthalien, sharing the truth about the makers and seeking to destroy the evil throne.

Much like it’s predecessor, book four continues to delve into heavier topics, and it really knocks it out of the park in breaking down big theological concepts like why bad things happen if God is good, facing uncertain futures, and understanding/trusting what we can’t see. The whole section with the felmare and Tehom blew my mind in how simply it illustrated such often mind-boggling concepts.

I was glad to see Ella and Tad finally start to reach a bit of understanding with one another. They’re still arguing plenty, but you can see they’re making an effort communicate their ideas to one another now, rather than just trading insults and scoldings. Hopefully that relationship will continue to grow even after the group is reunited, because I could see these two being a fierce force to be reckoned with if they could only get on the same page.

I’m excited to see where the Anelthalien series goes next!
