Odds & Ends 6/30-7/13

Despite the rain, I’ve had a really nice last couple of weeks. The 4th season of The Bear came out on Hulu at the end of June and I was able to catch up on that. Let me tell you, that show can be stressful to watch sometimes, but it does a great job of showcasing subtle but powerful character arcs.

4th of July weekend found me at my parents’ house, finally getting to check out some new places that have opened up in my hometown recently, and getting to experience the county fair with my niece and nephew. We managed to come home from that fair with three goldfish this year, beating last year’s singular fish, which I thought gave us better survival odds, but I must report that not one of those fish made it to the end of the weekend. As my niece put it, they are “swimming with the poops now” (we flushed them down the toilet when they died).

This weekend I finally went back to my previous project to begin re-reading. So far, I’m happy with what’s there, I’m just wondering if I need a little more connective tissue between scenes. We’ll see if that feeling persists to the end…
