The past couple of weeks haven’t been too crazy, and I managed to get a little rest & a little writing in, which is good, because this weekend marks the beginning of what I’m going to call “the end of the year marathon.”
I got some puppy cuddles in while dog-sitting the weekend before last, which is enough to brighten anybody’s day, then Halloween came and went this weekend (I got to wear comfy clothes to work as Boo from Monsters Inc.), but today brought about my least favorite occasion, the end of daylight savings time. I miss my extra hour of sun already! Now it’s time to buckle down & figure out the rest of my Christmas shopping, winterize my car, get out my holiday shirts, celebrate Thanksgiving, watch Wicked: For Good, decorate for Christmas, and look forward to all the festivities that will be happening in December. I enjoy all the things this time of year brings, but it all seems to happen so quickly once we get to it (I’m gonna put part of the blame on less daylight, since I’m already annoyed by it), so I have to make sure I’m prepared, or next thing I know it’ll be 2026!
I would love to think I’ll get lots more writing done this year, but I have to keep my expectations realistic during the end of the year marathon or I’ll just end up feeling exhausted. There will be windows, I’m sure, but they’ll be smaller windows than the rest of the year, so I’ll have to make every word count!
