This week has been slow. Time has passed slowly, traffic has been slower because there is a college on my route to work and class is back in session, and even writing has been slower. Every sentence has been a hard-won battle like my brain is stuck in the mud. These are not my favorite kind of weeks.

These are not my favorite kind of weeks, so it’s left me in a bit of a funk today.

It probably doesn’t help that I watched The Last Five Years last night. It’s got some catchy tunes, but man will it leave you feeling deflated. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a musical (based on the stage musical of the same name) that follows a couple’s relationship in two alternating timelines: Cathy, backward from the end, and Jamie, from the beginning forward. Anyway, it’s a bummer, despite starring the always charming Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
