Odds & Ends 5/07-5/13

You know that feeling when it seems like you’ve been trying to read the same page over and over for hours but you’re still nowhere near absorbing what’s in front of you? That’s where I’m at today.

That’s not to say I haven’t been productive this week, or even enjoying myself, because I have, both writing and reading. I’ve just gotten to the point where my brain has seen so many words, it has turned off and can no longer tell if a sentence is good or bad, just words.

Time for a break.

In other news, I’ve been keeping a careful eye on the T.V. renewals and cancellations coming out this week; this gets more dramatic every year as networks have realized they can poach from other networks’ rejections, as exemplified by NBC claiming Brooklyn Nine-Nine yesterday after FOX cancelled it Friday, or FOX picking up Last Man Standing earlier this week after ABC cancelled it a year ago. How can fans give up hope on a show when weird things like that are possible?

There are only a handful of network shows left that haven’t received decisions, including two of my favorites, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Timeless, both of which are approaching their season finales in the next week.

In breaking news, I spotted a spider eating a fly on my bedroom window, but after going to get a shoe, it has vanished, so I’m going to sign off now and go have a panic attack in another room. Have a good week everyone!
