Well, NaNoWriMo came to an end Wednesday night, and no, I did not hit 50,000 words, but that was not my personal goal this year. (Big congrats to those of you that did though!) I haven’t actually checked the full word count of the project I started for National Novel Writing Month; I’m more concerned with the time spent writing this month than words written.
On that front, there were certainly highs and lows, but overall, I’m pleased with the results. I managed to prove to myself that I could increase my daily writing time, even with a busier work schedule, without exhausting myself. While I might not set out to spend that extra time writing every day as I did during NaNoWriMo, I’m glad to know it’s there when I get on a roll and need it.
As a reward for seeing the experiment through (and because I did not give myself any in November) I started December with some well-earned reading time. Going into the month, there will be lots of Christmas-related things happening, along with the usual work, sleep, and keeping myself alive & healthy business, but I’m going to continue working on the project I started in November. I’ll probably start splitting my writing time between it and editing a pre-November project, so while it may be a little while before I get to add the exciting phrase “THE END” on this one, I look forward to the day I do!
