Odds & Ends 8/24-9/6: 10 Years!

This Tuesday marks 10 years of blogging for me. A whole decade of trying to keep myself accountable with my writing, sharing my thoughts on books, movies, and television, and occasionally trying to cook.

But this isn’t the only milestone my family has marked in the last month! My niece started kindergarten at the end of August and it sounds like she’s having a great time, my nephew is now potty trained, and my dad is recovering from knee surgery.

With all of this going on, I am enjoying a relaxing Labor Day weekend. My niece spent the night Friday and we got what will probably be our last bit of pool time in for the year, and I spent Saturday evening and today alternating between Christmas shopping online and drafting query letters. My writing group is almost finished reading the first book in my trilogy, and once they do I hope to get their feedback on which phrases and summaries best capture the spirit of the book. Tomorrow I intend to spend rewriting a few more scenes in book two of that series. Slowly but surely, I’m chipping away at that one.

In honor of year 10, I’ve included links back to 9 of my highest-rated reviews and one successful recipe from the past decade:
