The last few weeks have been all about weddings and family for me. It started with a last minute trip to my parents’ house with my niece & nephew one weekend, followed by a friend’s wedding & girls’ night with my mom the next, and last night I got to see a lot of my extended family to celebrate my cousin’s wedding. It’s been a lot of fun getting to see all the familiar faces, and my niece is really fascinated with the idea of other languages right now, so I’m debating if I need to download Duolingo again.
With all of that happening on the weekends and work being exhausting during the weekdays, I haven’t done a lot of writing recently. I am trying to review & brainstorm my query letter drafts when I get some downtime here and there, but I don’t think I have a version that fully captures the whole essence of the story just yet.
One small victory this week: I turned my air conditioning off! We finally had a stretch of days where the highs weren’t ninety degrees or higher (they were even below eighty briefly), so I shut off the a/c and opened my window to enjoy some fresh air. Unfortunately, our temperatures are expected to heat up again this week, so I may be toughing it out with a fan or else I’ll have to turn the a/c back on. Eventually it’s going to feel like fall and stay that way, right?
